Xiaomi Launches the Upgraded Redmi Projector 4 Pro with ToF Sensor and Enhanced Brightness

Xiaomi has officially launched its new Redmi Projector 4 Pro in China, marking another impressive addition to its expanding smart home entertainment lineup. Building on the success of the Redmi Projector 3 Pro, this new model introduces a range of performance and design improvements, including a higher brightness output, MEMC motion smoothing, and a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor for faster, more precise autofocus and keystone correction.

Sleek Design and Improved Visual Performance

At first glance, the Redmi Projector 4 Pro retains the familiar minimalist rectangular design of its predecessor but conceals several internal upgrades. The projector delivers 600 CVIA lumens of brightness, a notable increase from the 470 CVIA lumens on the previous model. While Xiaomi has yet to disclose the ANSI or ISO lumens equivalent, the improved light source promises better visibility in moderately lit environments, making it ideal for home theaters and living rooms alike.

The projector supports Full HD (1920 × 1080) resolution with a 1.25:1 throw ratio, capable of projecting a screen size ranging from 45 to 120 inches. Whether you’re streaming movies, gaming, or hosting a movie night, the Redmi Projector 4 Pro ensures a crisp, vibrant, and immersive viewing experience.

Powerful Hardware and Intelligent Calibration

Under the hood, Xiaomi equips the Redmi Projector 4 Pro with the MediaTek MT9660 SoC, ensuring smooth navigation and efficient video decoding for high-definition content. One of its standout features is the inclusion of a ToF laser sensor, which enables automatic focus and keystone correction. Unlike traditional manual adjustments, the projector automatically detects screen distance and alignment, creating a perfectly rectangular image within seconds—without any visible calibration patterns on the screen.

Enhanced Audio and MEMC Technology

Xiaomi has upgraded the audio system as well, moving from dual 6W speakers to dual 8W speakers enhanced with a passive bass radiator. This setup delivers a richer, more powerful sound with deeper low frequencies, providing a cinematic experience straight out of the box.

Another major improvement is MEMC (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation) technology, which helps reduce motion blur and judder during high-speed scenes. Sports fans and action movie enthusiasts will appreciate the smoother playback and reduced lag.

Smart Ecosystem and Connectivity

As part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, the Redmi Projector 4 Pro supports Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, allowing users to control the device via the Xiaomi app or through voice commands. It integrates seamlessly with other Xiaomi smart home devices for a unified entertainment experience.

Connectivity options include HDMI ARC, USB 2.0, a 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.1. The projector can even function as a standalone Bluetooth speaker, offering more versatility for music playback.

Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Redmi Projector 4 Pro is priced at CNY 1,799 (approximately $253) and is currently available in China. Xiaomi has yet to confirm an international release, though similar models—like the Xiaomi Smart Projector L1 Pro—are already sold in European markets for around €288.50.

With its upgraded brightness, intelligent ToF sensor, MEMC support, and robust audio system, the Redmi Projector 4 Pro represents a compelling upgrade for users seeking premium performance at a budget-friendly price point.
