Samsung’s One UI 7 Update Faces Delay Due to Critical Bug, Prolonging Android 15 Wait

Samsung has reportedly halted the rollout of its One UI 7 update—based on Android 15—for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 following the discovery of a serious bug. The issue prevents some users from unlocking their devices, prompting Samsung to pause the global release while it investigates.

The delay not only affects these flagship models but could also push back the update’s arrival for other Samsung devices, extending the wait for Android 15 across the board.

A Frustrating Setback

While Google’s Pixel devices received Android 15 in October, Samsung users have faced a much longer wait. Now, with this unexpected hurdle, the rollout has been further delayed.

According to trusted leakers @UniverseIce and @tarunvats33 (via Android Police), the issue emerged after some Galaxy S24 users in South Korea reported being unable to unlock their phones after installing the update. Samsung has since withdrawn the firmware in affected regions and is likely working on a fix.

What This Means for Samsung Users

If you’ve already installed One UI 7, you may encounter this bug—though its exact scope remains unclear. For those still waiting, the delay means an even longer hold before receiving the update.

Unfortunately, the setback could also slow down One UI 7’s release for older or mid-range Samsung devices, leaving many users stuck on older software.

Samsung Risks Falling Further Behind

With Android 16 potentially just months away, Samsung is now at risk of falling significantly behind Google’s update cycle. The company will need to resolve this issue quickly to avoid leaving users on outdated software for even longer.

For now, Samsung fans will have to wait a little longer—hopefully for a more stable and bug-free update.
